SCINTILLATION from Xavier Chassaing on Vimeo.

Just a lovely little experimental film. I'm so sorry, my posts are almost shorter that those on twitter – which is on probation, I still don't know if I like it. I'm a sucker for all kinds of social networking, and I thought this could be fun – but really who cares? Again, the right brainer in me wants it to serve some kind of purpose and the no brainer in me want to turn the internet off and get on my bike. I'm assured my new Conti's are in the post and on their way – come on, let's all track it together – oh, if only we could.

sign of the times

Balloons

I thought this place needed a clearout – in fact it going to be a little more active, with some new pages, some new ideas. a sea change.

The weather over here has not been great and now that we’re all back from our holiday we’ve got a while to wait until the next break and the chance to escape. Time to get my head down and work. At least when you look outside you woudn’t wish you were out there on a bike or sitting on the beach.

I keep re-reading some of the really old posts – I’m glad I kept this place going. There have been some fads, but I’ve kept at it – viva les points et espaces!

P.S – heard about Vino this morning…just don’t know what to say. a black day for cycling. again.

this site is an eyesore

Frost

I’m so tired of looking at this site and wondering what to do with it. The last couple of tweaks to colour and banner have been appalling – I really have been quite clueless. But then its february, there are other things to think about, get the house ready, keep warm, fix bicycles and watch films. We are going to see "The Prestige" on saturday, I have a feeling its not going to be very good.

I think it might be to do with energy – I have very little. I’m not really all that keen on the big detox and get fit burst that we attempt after christmas – in france they wait until springtime, which is much better – you can actually go out and enjoy the big outdoors, rather than hang about in gyms. For a while I use to go, but I just don’t like them – nobody wants to be there, the view (of other sweaty people) is rather limited and the air is less than fresh. Nothing beats hitting the lanes and scooting through the countryside.

I know we’re going to be very busy, very soon, but I can’t wait.

so, bear with me, I will have a proper think about dots and spaces – this tweaking has got to stop.

a delay of sorts

well, I’m just coming out of a pretty horrid cold and starting to feel a little better, thanks…but I know you want to know what’s going on with the site – apologies, apologies – dots and spaces will be taking a little break over the next couple of weeks in readiness for V.3 – its been a while coming and now there are just so many things to link to and the way I use the web has changed a great deal since I started posting here. Now I need dots and spaces to change and adapt a little – and it will. So hang in there, more to follow soon…

del.icio.us

I’ve been doing so many searches lately, and then emailing them to myself, that I thought I should give del.icio.us a go. From now on, I’ll keep posting here, but check del.icio.us/dotsandspaces for the latest links that I’ve bookmarked. del.icio.us works like Flickr, using tags, and I’ve learnt a new word – Folksonomy and everything seems to be going this way, I’m sure typepad will follow suit, more explicitly than the categories users can assign to each post. The links that I put through del.icio.us (what a pain to type) will be more personal (boring) but if you’re interested, you can have a look.

lists…

If you like making lists, then theres a neat little application that you can get from 37signals, and at 43things you can make a list of all the things you want to do. Its a weird little site, and I’m still struggling to understand why – I think that the idea is that you find inspiration from seeing what other people want to do, but I mean, what’s wrong with your own imagination. Anyway, let me know if any of these sites are useful to you.

Pink Rabbit says…

Honoured to become one of Ari Moore’s flickr contacts – I should make a pledge to try to keep taking pictures she likes the look of. There’s also a rather good blog that you can visit. She’s an industrious person with a great big collection of photos I feel like a tiny member in comparison. I also like the street art photos – I’ve noticed quite a few around – oh, Ari – I’m going to see John Spencer Blues explosion in Brighton this month, can’t wait.

Links and fun bits

Been surfing around for a bit of inspiration lately and I really like the things there are to see at wee wonderfuls just a great blog which I’ll be visiting regularly which really sums up the spirit of home made.Talking of which, I’m making something secret for Chris’ ipod at the moment, but in case he doesn’t like it he could have get a great cover from Kate’s Paperie. All bright colours and crazy patterns. I think this lead me to mylittlemochi and it deserves special mention for lovely writing. I think sometimes that looking at blogs like this don’t just give me little ideas, but feel like peeking in at a different world, its blog tourism. We’ll be cooking up Mango Bread this weekend, sounds delicious. I’m also very impressed by what she’s listening too – the girl got good taste. Oh and just to finish on more loveliness, have a look at the little sketches and designs at smallandround

When you win the previous year’s prize at the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival (SICAF) you have to create the spots for the following year’s festival and that’s just what Marc Craste has done.

I’ve been listening to Weezer and they’re a great. If you’re interested in what the band like to hear in thier headphones have butchers at Stokefactor Rivers doesn’t join want to join in, but he’s got his own pages at My Space he says “Hi”, he’s male, 35 and from Los Angeles.
