welcome to the new people

If you’ve just arrived after recieving my email, then…”hello”

As you can see, I’ve been at this about a week, and there’s quite a bit to go through. The first posts are at the bottom of the page, with the newest at the top.

There’s an “About Me” page that you can have a look at, and various links throughout the site. At the moment, the design is a bit basic, but hopefully it’ll evolve as we go on, with new pages added and new links.

It probably seems a bit self-agrandising, but forgive me, its just suppose to be a place where I can sound off, let people know what’s happening and note down things I’d like to remember. So, I hope you’ll forgive me and hope you enjoy the site.

More posts to come, probably once a week or so.

thanks

S.

Cipo to ride in le tour

Very pleased to hear of Mario Cippolini’s return to Le Tour after 4 years. Petachi will have some strong competition and I’m sure it will liven up the opening days, especially after last year. Hopefully we will get to see them go head to head in Quimper where we’ll be standing in the crowd. To say I’m looking forward to seeing Le Tour is a bit of an understatement. I think we’ll probably catch it in Briec the night before, then go into town to see the final sprint later in the afternoon.

Had a good ride yesterday, clocked up 31m (the 1 is very important), during which I climbed Harting Down, and almost came a cropper on the way down. My average is building up, and I can do a steady climb, but have trouble on much steeper climbs. Anyway, it was a good day, and felt great when I finally came home.

Goodbye Sven

Sven left today, he is heading to Australia with his family to make a new start. He’ s been working for the company for 7 years, and he’s one of the few people that have been there since I first started. So he’s now the fourth person I’ve known to emigrate, and the second this year. I’m looking forward to finally visiting one of these days…

let it snow…

Can you believe it, as i returned from the chip shop tonight, it started to snow, and by the time i parked up, there were little flakes sticking to the bonnet. I’m a bit wary after the blizzard a couple of weeks ago, it looks like this cold spell is here to stay for a bit longer.

Photoshop CS at the NEC

News from the NEC is that adobe are pushing CS in terms of its capabilities for digital cameras, and to build a better relationship between the RAW data from the camera and the application itself. Sounds like some real innovations, including a great shadows and highlights feature that lets you find the image, even when silhouetted against the skyline.
I’m currently enjoying Illustrator CS, which has some nice 3D tools, especially useful for logos and visualising tiffs and .eps files onto 3D shapes. I know its not in the league of most CAD software, but for bits of POS and product design, its a big help.

getting use to typepad

Well its taken me quite a few days to get to this point, there’s been plenty of tweaking, and I don’t think its quite there yet. i think, once a few more entries are up, we’ll start to let a few people know its here. I think there could be a few more templates to choose from, and maybe allow a little more personalisation, and I find myself thinking about going +plus or pro in a couple of months, once I got a bit more html under my belt.

repulse monkey

Tonight at Tai-Chi, our instructor was being observed by someone from the college. We worked hard, and completed some more interesting phases. My thighs ache a little, but as I haven’t been on the bike for about a week. Tonight, the light seemed to last right until 6 o’clock, the days are getting longer, and soon the clocks will go back. It’ll be a great day, and at last it feels in sight.

weather report

After a frosty start, it looks like getting warmer today, the sun is white, and the sky is clear. These frosty mornings have been painful for the car, on Monday I replaced the battery after a few difficult starts. It seems to have sorted it out. By the way, I own a dark green Peugeot 106, it has a sunroof and CD player, which since I got my ipod, I wish was actually a tape deck, so that I could slip one of those input tapes into it and listen to the ipod in the car.
