Peter Sing, aka The Sikh Elvis has departed to Canada, to spread craft further afield. I’ve been on a hunt for him for the past couple of months, and just as I thought I’d caught up with him, I recieved an email to say that he was unavailable for future bookings. I’ve been offered information on Patelvis, which I’ll look into, but as I hear he’s not in the region, it may be difficult to arrange anything.

Sky+ Campaign
I got this flyer in the newspaper, its for Sky+, which doesn’t really interest me. What did catch my eye was the artwork, which I’ve managed to track down to Adrian Johnson. There are books at Amazon and some more artwok if you click on the banner. If anyone knows any more about AJ, then let me know.
test your pets part 2
I’m afraid test your pets wasn’t a great success. Neil reported that Frankie’s spacial awareness was a bit pants. Harry is ambidextrious, but lacks sensory awareness. On the programme itself, the pets were either super-bright, or wouldn’t perform. The talking Miner Bird, was sadly, quite silent, but Rolf took it with good heart. Food played a big part in terms of rewards – pets don’t really do it for their own satisfaction. The whole thing had a kind of larson quality about it…
Frisbee
Just by our building is an old airfield, with a huge runway, now every lunchtime (weather permitting) we’ve been playing with the frisbee, and escaping from the air conditioning for a few minutes. We were pretty rubbish when we started, but we’re frisbee champs now, each one of us perfecting our frisbee technique. We’ve noticed how you have to adapt your style for each of the two or three frisbees we’ve been using…am I going into too much detail. Anyway, this site has hundreds of frisbees. There’s also a link to Wham-o who claim to sell the orginals. Come on people…make your summer….a frisbee summer.
weekend break
No posts this weekend as I’m heading to Dorset. Packed last night, and get picked up after work. I’ll post some photos. The forecast is pretty poor, but I have my Magnus Mills book, and the gameboy. No cycling this weekend either. Anyway…although impressive, I need more of you to click here to sponsor me Thank you to everyone who’s sponsored me so far, I won’t let you down.
laters…
test your pet
Following on from BBC’s test the nation, some bright spark has launched a survey to find out just how smart the nation’s pets are. I saw this article in the Guardian. Justine Hankins has a weekly column on pets, which I always catch myself reading over breakfast, its sharp, witty and usually informative. She often questions the assumptions we make about pet behaviour, and helps us understand a little more about the creatures we have living with us.
Monsterism and other essential purchases
There seems to be quite a few things I haven’t seen in the shop, but maybe I haven’t visited for a while. I seem to remember that the one40five store had a new website, and yep, I’m right. I think all the shops in Sydney St, Brighton are great, especially Yamama where Sharon and I always leave with a purchase. We had a good chat with the Australian woman who is leaving in a couple of months for a visit back home…more people going to Australia (oh alright, she is Australian)
House of Jazz
House of Jazz are a fashion label run by Hazel and Pablo. I went to Uni with Hazel and was pleased to come across this article about how the two of them got started. Hazel leant me props for my still life photos when I was learning photography at Barnet. Lovely clothes, wonder if they do a line in brown jumpers? ( I am fast becoming Einsteinian in my dress sense)
St David’s Day
Sharon wouldn’t forgive me, if I didn’t give a little St David’s day shout out to everyone in Wales, particularly the Cardiff bunch. Better luck in the Rugby.
Goodbye Sven
Sven left today, he is heading to Australia with his family to make a new start. He’ s been working for the company for 7 years, and he’s one of the few people that have been there since I first started. So he’s now the fourth person I’ve known to emigrate, and the second this year. I’m looking forward to finally visiting one of these days…
