{"id":147,"date":"2005-05-29T21:30:45","date_gmt":"2005-05-29T21:30:45","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dotsandspaces.uk\/dots\/uncategorized\/teenage_fanclub\/"},"modified":"2005-05-29T21:30:45","modified_gmt":"2005-05-29T21:30:45","slug":"teenage_fanclub","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dotsandspaces.uk\/dots\/music\/teenage_fanclub\/","title":{"rendered":"Teenage Fanclub"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teenagefanclub.com\/\">Teenage Fanclub<\/a> at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wedgewood-rooms.co.uk\">The Wedge<\/a>, with good support from <a href=\"http:\/\/www.luckyluke.co.uk\/\">Lucky Luke<\/a> who are named after a comic book that I used to read when I was little. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.internationalhero.co.uk\/l\/luckyluk.htm\">Lucky Luke<\/a> could shoot faster than his shadow, was in constant battle with The Dalton Brothers and the final frame was always the same, riding off into the sunset singing &#8220;I&#8217;m a poor lonesome cowboy, and a long way from home&#8230;&#8221; <\/p>\n<p>So, I got the new <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teenagefanclub.com\/\">Teenage Fanclub<\/a> record and its very good and shines through much more than seeing them live &#8211; maybe they need a quiet venue, where the intimacy and delicacy of the songs can be more readily distilled. The did look a bit like four lecturers at a College of Higher Education, and you can still hear inflections of grunge mixed with lush Byrds harmonies. I have to admit, a return is a bit of a treat&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Also, they&#8217;re one of only three bands that Gorky&#8217;s deem linkable&#8230;you&#8217;ll have to look <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gorkys.com\/links.php\">here<\/a> to find out about the other two.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Saw Teenage Fanclub at The Wedge, with good support from Lucky Luke who are named after a comic book that I used to read when I was little.
